This toy combines coloured jigsaw pieces, with shape and colour matching components. Children will love making the circular donut ring using the chunky beech pieces. They can do this on the desktop in free-play or use the baseboard as a reference. Each coloured jigsaw piece has a differently shaped hole in it. These accept only one of the shaped blocks that accompany the set. The pieces are colour coded to aid the process so matching them up is straightforward, but some of the pieces (arch shaped for example) are not symmetrical so they will need to be orientated to the hole in order for the piece to fit perfectly. Starting with colour identification, matching shapes, naming shapes, fitting them to the correct jigsaw pieces and completing the puzzle on the baseboard in the right order, all adds to the toy providing various levels of progression from easy to more challenging.
