This book gives a unique insight into the Scott architectural dynasty and is a perfect gift for those with an interest in Liverpool Cathedral. It originated in an illustrated talk on Sir Giles Gilbert Scott and the influences on his work, which was given in 1962 by his son, Richard, also an architect. Giles' work spanned the first six decades of the twentieth century, from his commission for the Liverpool Cathedral (Anglican) at the age of 22, via iconic power stations, libraries, and telephone boxes, to a church in Plymouth that he was working on when he died. The book contains the text of the talk, to which the editors have added explanatory footnotes, and reproductions of 75 of the original slides.
